Classes/layers colors in dropdown list

I guess it's a long shot, but the ability to assign a color to the (often very long) classes/layers in the dropdown list and organization panel would help a lot with navigating quickly.

Also a dark and modern UI update would be very welcome. Certainly on Windows it's much too bright, slow and has a very 'windows 95' feel to it.

Unless the colours auto-assign based on an internal or refinable system I can't see this being used or useful, much like Tags.

 

People will just assign all sorts of random colour that said I could think of a number of different ways I'd colour both layers and classes at times. Bonus points if you can filter them by colour.
