create sectional views from imported point cloud

After opening a point cloud in Vectorworks 2017 (Mac) I was hoping to edit the viewable area by creating cut sections to see only the areas needed.

However when I try to adjust the point cloud framing box a note saying 'object has no editable behaviour' is shown.

 

How can sections of a point cloud be created in Vectorworks (2017 Mac) or is their another software available. The end goal is to input into sketch-up.

Hi @oliver sadler you should be able to use the Clip Cube to isolate parts of the Point Cloud. You can then right-click on the plane of the Clip Cube and create a Viewport from there.

I have reported that there is a problem in VW2020 section viewports of pointclouds display as black.  This was replicated by the support team.   I have now upgraded to 2021 hoping it would be fixed, but alas the problem persists.
