rmarkowitz
When I am exporting a model from Vectorworks to Revit or generic 3DS, all objects in my model export except for the Spotlight Curved Truss. I've done it a few different times now and every time, all other objects export fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! SamIWas
Hmmm...I just checked on my setup with VW 2020 SP3.1 on mac. Exported a 3ds with straight truss, curved truss, and a few other random objects. Imported into Cinema 4D with no problems. Everything is there. Quote Link to comment
rmarkowitz
Hm interesting...thanks for sharing. I realized the problem was the geometry was exporting as lines instead of solid models. I had to export the lines to a 3DS and recreate the truss in another program. Navis, Revit, and other 3D modeling programs couldn't understand how to render the lines. I can't attach the fbx export apparently, but here's a screenshot of the truss element rendered in "Wireframe" and in "Solid" views. Quote Link to comment
SamIWas
Make sure you have "Export Plug-In Objects" checked. I just tested again, and truss will not export if that option is deselected. This is in Cinema 4D with a straight VW export. Quote Link to comment
rmarkowitz
I had that selected for sure...I tried toggling it too. Quote Link to comment
