Vectorworks to AutoCad Conversion

Hi,

 

I am working with a designer that uses VectorWorks and we use AutoCad. Any suggestions on how to convert the .vwx to .dwg? Do I need to have the VW software? Any help is appreciated.

Vectorworks can import and export .dwg directly.

 

If it fits your workflow VW can also import IFC, Revit, Cinema 4D, PDFs, Shapefiles, .3ds, .obj, .stl, Rhino, Parasolid, and Sketchup, plus a few more

 

and export PDF, Shapefile, .3ds, 3D PDF, Cinema 4D, .obj, .stl, Rhino, Parasolid, plus a few more.

 

When round tripping dwg to vwx it will be useful to experiment with the import/export dwg settings to make sure you are getting back the dwg formatting you like.

Ask the designer to export their file from VW into a  dwg version compatible with your AutoCad version. VW can export to most dwg versions. It’s useful if they supply a pdf version of the file so you have a visual reference in case there are are any obvious issues with the exported file.

I have this playground file from a Landscape Architect. can someone convert this to .dwg for me, please and thank you

Is there a reason why the Landscape Architect won't export that as a DWG file for you?
