rickpett
When I import venue dwg files every last nut and bolt in every seat and each individual seat becomes a symbol, weighing down the file. Am I missing something? How can I prevent this? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Work with people who have a better understanding of what is needed in a drawing? ;-) It sounds like whoever prepared the venue drawing just took the drawings from the seat manufacturer and dropped them in. Since all of that data exists in the DWG, there is not a lot you can do other than ask whoever gave it to you to clean it up on their end or clean it up on your end. Perhaps you can bring it into a "shuttle file" drawing and then use a Design Layer Viewport to bring into you working file. That may allow you to turn off classes that you don't need and lighten the file enough to be workable. Good Luck. Quote Link to comment
scottmoore
I would not bring in a venue DWG file into my working file. I always import into a blank file and then spend as much time as I can afford to clean it up. Then I just viewport that drawing (as Pat mentioned a “shuttle file”) into my project file.
