Putman
Hi, I'm having trouble with my hidden line exterior elevations. I have a brick texture which is determined by component on the brick walls. This brick texture then has a brick hatch included for hidden line mode. The problem I'm having is that the coursing doesn't always line up between first and second story walls, and I can't figure out why. While the vertical coursing is always correct, the horizontal coursing sometimes lines up perfectly, but not always. At first, I thought it might have to do with the direction the walls were drawn, or whether they had ever been mirrored, but that doesn't seem to be the case. This screen shot shows the problem (inside in the red box). Does anybody have a solution for this? It seems like I run into this problem a lot but I've never found a fix. Thanks! Guest Wes Gardner
@Putman, you are correct, this is a known issue. You can often correct the vertical coursing issue by checking the box under the Render tab in the OIP - "Use World Z for Origin" (see attached screenshot) but there is no way to correct for horizontal misalignment. Putman
That's frustrating. I was hoping there was a solution. In case it's helpful for anyone else, in some cases I've found that copying the wall from one story layer and pasting into the next story layer works to keep the coursing consistent. It can be a lot of extra work and isn't always a realistic option depending on the complexity of the wall, but sometimes it can be a work-around. Quote Link to comment
Guest Wes Gardner
@Putman, yup, I've tried tweeking the surface hatch and all kinds of other workarounds but...sorry Wes Quote Link to comment
rDesign
@Wes Gardner - is there any hope that these wall surface hatch / alignment issues (as reported in this current thread and others for years) will be addressed in Vw2021? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
