Grey layers not publishing to PDF as grey

Greetings.

is anyone else having issues when they publish to PDF with their 'grey' layers/classes not showing as grey? 

They show as grey on my Vectorworks screen but not on my PDF. Ive attached  a screen shot and a PDF file

I definitely have this problem and would like to know the answer.

What do you have set for the Grey Level for Greyed Layers and Classes? The default it 69% if this got set to 100% then they might not show as grey.

 

There are also a couple of other options about Grey classes hidden in the Options button for export type of PDF.

I think you got it Pat.  Mine was at 69% I set it to 30% and it seems to work.

Thanks for that guys. Unfortunately thats not it. The first 9 pages export fine, then the last 44 export black and white

What happens if you only export pages 10-22? (or something like that)?

 

Trying to figure out if maybe it is a memory issue and perhaps you can export in blocks?

In the Publish dialogue select the sheets and hit Options...

Maybe thats my problem. Mine is grayed out?

You need to select the sheets. See my screen shot they are blue.

No worries. That dialogue is not very intuitive to say the least. I remember coming across the same confusion with it.

@Pat Stanford I saw where you can set the grey level for layers & classes when exporting a PDF, but what about publishing a PDF? Is there a way to set the Gray level when publishing as a set of sheets?

I think in the publish dialogue you select the sheets and click the “Options...”.

Aha! There it is. I have to first select one of the sheets in the right window before the Options button is active. Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I'm using VW 2024, and when I set the 'grey level for greyed layer and classes' to either 1% or 100%, I don't see any changes. Regardless of what I set, the exported PDF reflects the same in the viewports/sheet layers.

Is this a bug, or am I missing something here?

I have attached two PDFs—one with the grey level set to 1% and the other with the grey level set to 100%.
