JazzLX
Hi all, I'm still attempting to model the hull of a steam paddler, and whilst I am intending on using nurbs curvs and lofts for most of the hull, there are a few sections that are difficult to do that way due to not having and frame details for the hull. I'm trying an extrude along path method, but it is proving difficult. I can't get the 2d poly to extrude correctly. Does anyone have any ideas. I've attached some pictures, th e first shows the 2d shape and the path, the next shows what happens with no lock profile plane or fixed profile then the last shows the extrude with the lock profile plane option. The path is the exact curve of back of the boat structure, but the extrude isn't following this? I'm close to a meltdown.... another cup of tea is required! Thanks in advance Jazz Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
If your curves are in the correct orientation then you need to use the Fix Profile checkbox in the EAP dialog. You may need to switch the "direction" of one of your curves if the creation fails once you activate the checkbox. Kevin Quote Link to comment

Kevin Allen
I'm unclear not he desired result, but the Profile may want to be rotated 90° in space? Quote Link to comment
