Automatically assign groups to specific class

Hi all!

 

If I create a group in VW, the group will be assign to the active class. Is there a way to have a class that is automatically used for new groups?

Like with walls, even if I am in another class, the walls are always assign to the class "walls".

No built in way to do this.

 

It would be possible to create a script/Plug-in menu command that would create a group of selected objects and assigned them to a pre-defined class.

 

How much would you use this versus how much effort does it take to change the class when you create a group.

 

I estimate that to write a "commercial" grade script with error checking and some minimal level of support will take 5-10 hours.

 

So if you want to hire someone to write this assume it will be $1K to $2K. Or you might get someone (me) to do it for free if you are willing to state that you will save more than 10 hours per year by not having to switch the class of groups you make.
