Extra lines from DWG File

Amedeo

Question

Hi all,

I have imported the stage from a DWG file and when I move from OpenGL to wireframe, I have some extra lines appearing and this is causing me problems when creating the paperwork.

Is there an way to cancel those extra lines without having to redo the stage?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, @Amedeo Welcome to the Forum!

Looks like the 3d dwg components imported as a mesh, or as several meshes. All those facets and diagonals suggest the mesh trying to resolve curved surfaces with flat areas. (just guessing).

Did you also receive a plan projection, planar linework, which could be sources for one or several extrudes?

If not, as a workaround, try tracing the plan projection on a new layer, then extruding to height of stage. Either snap straight lines and 3 point arcs to relevant points, then compose them, or trace with a polyline, switching modes as you progress to make straight or curved segments. The stair can be modeled as extrusions from the side or use the stair tool.

Or post again if this is not helping.
