YesChef
Is it possible to patch single channel fixtures in Vision? I am trying to patch ETC Source 4 lekos and some single channel house lights for a venue we are doing some pre-programming for in the next week. Technically the lekos on-site are controlled by an ETC Sensor 3 dimming system, same with the house lights, not that it should matter for Vision / Vectorworks. How can I overcome my programming problem with these fixtures? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee jcogdell Posted April 30, 2020 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 30, 2020 In this scenario the easiest thing to do is insert the S4's as normal in your design, these would then be patched in your console a generic dimmers (with the same address as in Vision) and then add some more conventional fixtures (parcans, fresnels, or whatever takes your fancy) to represent the house lights. Again these would just be patched as generic dimmers in your console. For PreVis the type of dimmer that the venue uses is not relevant, the only things that matter are the types of conventional fixtures that the dimmer controls, as these dictate what you see in the PreVis environment not the dimmer and the DMX address of those fixtures.
