APE Design Ctr
Hi all, looking to create a report where if I summarize duplicate symbols, it also numbers the amount of instances of that symbol, not just give me 1 line item in the chart. any suggestions? Thanks Eddie Quote Link to comment
David Ormsby
Not sure if I'm following exactly, but my report has one line for the instance name in column A, and number of instances in column B. The Database line then sums the total number of all symbols. In the database row (in addition to the SUM tool), the A cell has "=S" and the B cell has "1". Is this what you're looking for? APE Design Ctr
Thanks for the response, David. I am looking for summaries of individual symbol instances, not the total summary of symbols. Do you know of a way to do this? Thanks Eddie Quote Link to comment
quigley
Select the database header row, and drag the summary icon (the 3 little icons in the worksheet above the cells, SUM, ascending and descending) onto the column you want to summarize. Quote Link to comment
quigley
Sorry Eddie, I reread your original post. Do you want to count the number of instances of the duplicates? If so, do as I said above, but in the header row column adjacent to the list, type =COUNT. This will tell the cells in the column under to list the number of items, and in the summary row, it totals it up. Quote Link to comment
