entering lengths & angles manually

mpalin1943

Question

Don't know how to explain this but here goes.

Say I want to draw a line 2 units length at 45°, I select the line tool, click where I what the line to start hit tab, type in the values then hit return and don't get a line 2 at 45° I get a random line. It never used to do this and its very annoying.  Any ideas anyone?

thanks

@mpalin1943 Another thing: last step should be a dbl press of the return key rather than a single press.  A single press locks the values as entered and allows tabbing and filling further fields in the smart cursor or directing the next vertex with cursor, eg if a z value would be entered for a 3d poly.  This "feature" of locking in values with single press is not always useful, as in length then angle for a 2d line, but is not smart enough to realize your intent. It just offers everything available every time it is accessed.
