payne
i haven't been using this for long so please bear with me if this is a dumb question.. up until now have been using the wall tool to create plans, elevations etc. now wanting to add cavities to walls for tech drwgs, whilst still keeping the ability to view the plans without the cavities showing. is it possible to switch the cavities on/off for technical/presentation drawings or is the only way to delete them when not required to show? Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted November 11, 2005 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 11, 2005 Payne, right now the cavities are scale-dependent in VW Architect. You can set a document setting to hide them when the drawings are at a user-definable scale. Quote Link to comment
quigley
Scale is not always the solution though. It would be better to be able to define wall components in specific classes. Outer lines in one class, each component in other (user defined) class or classes. Quote Link to comment
J. Johnson
KQ- Great thought! That would make it a lot easier to layout and dimension walls to the framing, and produce plans for the framers, then turn on the different cavity lines to ensure finish dimensions are okay (for ADA stuff, etc.) Oh man, that would be great... -Jake Quote Link to comment
payne
you're right, scales method is working ok but KQ's idea would be far easier and more efficient Quote Link to comment
