Delete Record Field

Anyone know if there is a way to delete or replace a record field from an existing record using VS?

I don't see one. The SDK has calls to rename and delete fields, so I don't know if the omission is an oversight or if the calls were intentionally not  included to protect against data loss.

 

One option would be to delete and rebuild the record. Given the way vs executes, it's possible the date would be retained.
