Peter van der Elst
I can't seem to use the help file under safari. Apple probably changed the Java in the updated Safari :-( I see the Menu on the leftside but when I click on a subject it is not shown in the right window. Anyone with the same problem? Firefox works Ok. Thanks, Peter Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Works great with 10.3.9, Safari 1.3.1(v312.3.1) and Java 142 update2. I'm goin Tiger this week ... and will probably have similar issues ... let's get this one resolved. Quote Link to comment
NickB
One issue I have found is that if you open help twice from VectorWorks (ie you have used it once, not closed it and then opened it from VW again) you get two 'sessions' of the help running and the second one will behave as Peter explained. Closing the second one (or quiting Safari and starting again) resolves the issue. Annoying, but in my experience it does work. Nick Quote Link to comment
Guest
Also, go to the Safari menu and select Clear Cache. This is an issue with Safari that we are working wtih Apple to resolve. Once you get the page to load, this information is actually on the first few pages of the help files. Quote Link to comment
Administrator Pharr Posted November 8, 2005 Administrator Share Posted November 8, 2005 We are aware of some Safari related problems which occur on some machines and not others. We are working with Apple and the vendors of our HTML help system to get these resolved. Additionally, we do know that non-current versions of the Java runtime environment cause big problems for the help system. Check your system update status ans make sure you are current. Firefox is our recommended alternative to Safari to get around these help problems. Quote Link to comment
Peter van der Elst
Thanks for all the response!! Is there a way to set Firefox as the default helpviewer then? My OS is up to date by the way. Regards, Peter Quote Link to comment
