Drake
We have a lot of legacy note files (general notes, construction notes..any large amount of notation) that we have composed in Word. We have found that we are unable to use anything newer than Word 5.1 to import text and keep formatting information. I wonder how other people do this sort of notation. Mac 10.3 and 10.4. VW 11. Thank you. Quote Link to comment
Travis
I've struggled with VW's General Notes feature and found a measure of success. But if I want to place stuff directly from Word, I just print to PDF and then place the PDF on the VW Sheet. You can't edit it, but it looks pretty. Good luck, Quote Link to comment
Kevin
Try saving your Word text in "Rich Text Format" RTF. Then copy and paste in VW. VW may not understand the proprietary Word format but it should understand RTF just fine. This way the text is editable and not a static PDF or other image file. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Here's a neat trick for down & dirty ... most suppliers & Gov agencies provid specs via pdf on the web or the html can be printed to PDF from OSX. Once downloaded the pages many not be correctly formatted and often contain some extraneous information. The fix is to open the PDF file in Preview then use the crop tool on the selection and copy the result to the clipboard. Then goto VW and paste the static text & image results directly into the active document ... hassel free. Quote Link to comment
