Newbie Questions

Hi All,

As a beginner to using this program.

I'm going to start off by embarassing myself with these questions.

I've made my order with version 12.

What is a good way for a newbie like myself to start off?

Has anyone heard when VW 12 is arriving at doors?

Version 12 is shipping with a tutorial CD according to the latest press release. I would start with that.

Your question is pretty vague as it gives no indication of what series you have and what type of drawings you are working with.

1. Run through the tutorials.

2. And if you are really into self abuse, read the manual.

3. Play as you go.

4. Reference problems you might have along the way by searching and reading the forums here.

5. Don't be afraid to ask any question here on the forum ( try to search for answers in old threads first, lots of stuff is already here)

And one for the tech board admins :

6. It would be very beneficial for new people to have a dedicated forum on the board, call it a "New to VW knowledge bank" or similar where answers to the basic setup questions are stored, plus new threads covering often asked beginner questions.

This would help new people a lot and it would also help the board as they can be quickly directed to this forum.

While you are waiting for 12 to arrive, run through the nemetschek web site and view all the movies, tutorials, galleries, etc. Check out this web site for specific questions and use it it to ask questions, even basic ones, like I have done, even though at times it is embrassing. Get some training or work along side someone who knows vw. Good luck.
