Stephen M.
I am uplighting drapery and the light is showing through the drapery. Could someone remind me what I have to set to make the light "bounce" off the drapery and not go through it? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted March 20, 2020 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 20, 2020 Make sure there is a texture applied to the drape. Edit the texture and check the cast shadows option. Quote Link to comment
Stephen M.
I think I tried that. could you look at the file and let me know what I missed? drape opaque.vwx Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted March 20, 2020 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 20, 2020 First, you need to tell the light to cast a shadow. Once you do that the geometry form the fixture will be blocking the light, so you then need to assign a non-shadow casting texture to the fixture geometry. In the sample file I just made the texture but you can use the default instrument texture that is used by our lighting fixtures. drape opaque.vwx Quote Link to comment
Stephen M.
must be something else I'm missing. I've changed the drape to different objects and the lights still show through. Is there some other settings to the environment that has to be switched? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted March 20, 2020 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 20, 2020 Those were the only changes I made to the file attached above. You will see the the light on the second curtain till the rendering is complete. Quote Link to comment
