Sanchia
Hello there, I am trying to import a DWG file. The document is 1:500 @ A1. I open a new doc and set up the page to A1 and change the scale to 1:500 I check 'use detected DXF/DWG file units' then check 'For unitless DXF/DWG file use Millimeters' And check 'Change current Vectorworks doc units to match the specific DXF/DWG file units.' The dwg doc imports and fits the A1 sheet however it is scaled at 1:1 I then use the 'Scale Objects' 'Symmetric by distance'. On the doc at this point 5m =10 and i change it to 10 = 5000. If i click okay - the document is scaled correctly however there is no text. If i click on 'Scale Text' everything disappears - no text no drawing. Thanks for your time. Quote Link to comment

DWG import always creates a new design layer with a calculated scale ("Fit to Page", default choice) or the specified scale ("This Scale" option). 1 Quote Link to comment

Hello there,
I am trying to import a DWG file. The document is 1:500 @ A1.
I open a new doc and set up the page to A1 and change the scale to 1:500
I check 'use detected DXF/DWG file units'
then check 'For unitless DXF/DWG file use Millimeters'
And check 'Change current Vectorworks doc units to match the specific DXF/DWG file units.'
The dwg doc imports and fits the A1 sheet however it is scaled at 1:1
I then use the 'Scale Objects' 'Symmetric by distance'. On the doc at this point 5m =10 and i change it to 10 = 5000.
If i click okay - the document is scaled correctly however there is no text. If i click on 'Scale Text' everything disappears - no text no drawing.
Thanks for your time.
