Thom
Is there a way to place a retaining wall so the base will follow a slope, with the wall height a constant, other than setting several walls at individual elevations? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Andrew Bell@NV Posted June 25, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 25, 2004 You can insert "peaks" into walls along the top and bottom edges. Select the wall and the 3-D reshape tool. Click on the + icon in the mode bar, and then drag from either end of the bottom of the wall or from an existing peak to add a new one. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Interesting question. Could you you actually build a wall like that? My structural guys tell me that footings need to be place on a (more or less) flat surface, and then stepped... I think you could draw it that way using either the 3d reshape tool on the bottom of the wall (like an upside down gable) or if you have 11, you could use the "fit walls to roof" command (which will also work on the bottom of walls). Have Fun! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted June 25, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 25, 2004 The retaining walls now, when you enter a pitch, go up in a "stepped" manner, like a regular masonry wall. There is not currently an option to make it non-stepped. Quote Link to comment
Thom
Peter In my world, site planning, most of my walls do not require footings - segmented block walls such as Keystone or one of the many other manufactures, or they are built out of rock. Quote Link to comment
