I am trying to crop a bitmap image on my MAC, and cannot adjust the Crop Visible box in the Object Info pallet. It is greyed out. I have not had this issue on a PC. Is there an area for me to adjust the Bitmap Crop settings anywhere?

Right click on the bitmap and choose Edit Crop.

 

The Crop Visible checkmark just determines if the cropping object is visible or not. If there is not crop object it can't be true.

Thanks Pat. I think I mis understood what that check box does.

 

I am experiencing a difference in what I see on a PC and what I see on a MAC:

 

On a sheet layer I have drawn a series of rectangles to act as frames for images. I import an image and click through to edit its crop. In the bitmap crop window on a PC I can snap to the original rectangle to get the exact size crop that I need. On a MAC I am not able to snap to the rectangle.

 

Am I missing a setting somewhere that will allow me to snap to the rectangle in the bitmap crop window on a MAC?

It is probably the Show Other Objects while in Editing Mode preference (VW Preferences:Display tab  or the quick preference in the mode bar that looks like a border object with an eye ) 

 

Or if you can see them but not snap, it may be one of the snapping preferences.
