In Vectorworks sometimes things can take quite some time during which nothing seems to be going on and it looks like it is frozen, e.g. with rendering or when selecting a very large number of objects in a complex drawing. In some cases you can stop an action and in some cases you can't other than force quitting Vectorworks. Could you also please indicate which version of Vectorworks you are using and what your hardware specifications are (GPU, CPU, RAM and operating system) as those may or may not be a factor having to do with your issue.
