How to connect all lines in a drawing

danfb12

Question

Hello!

I have been using vectorworks for about a month now, and have create a relatively large model and 2d drawings with it. I may have started drawing it with the wrong method, as I now have a model and drawings made up of a large amount of lines and shapes, which is causing vectorworks to run slowly. Is there anyway I can connect all the lines/ shapes together? I have tried the connect and combine tool and this sometimes works but would be too time consuming for the whole project. I have also tried compose but this doesn't work.

Any help would be grately appreciated,

Thanks!

If you're trying to combine a large number of e.g. lines / arcs into a polyline perimater, select one of your lines and choose "Select Connected Objects" off the Edit menu. Then choose Compose off the Modify menu. You can do this a few times and reduce the number of elements in your drawing.
