jfmarch
i beleive that if you place a locus at the distant point, then select the object and the locus, you can use the locus as your snapping point. hope this helps... Quote Link to comment
ionw
I had good luck with P2P Move in VW 10. Scroll down the list on this page: Vectordepot:Plugins Quote Link to comment
Jacques
Tom, Tom, it sounds as though you're after a "move with base point" feature??? I don't think VW has this as a built in plug-in. I would advise looking at www.vectorbits.com and their Vectormove feature. (not free, but cheap) There is also a plug-in called "Point 2 Point" at www.vectordepot.com (free) Hope that helps. Tom Spriggs
Thanks guys PtP works well! but........here are some other questions.... is there a way to COPY relative to a point in a similar fashion to point to point?? Also Is there a way to set shortcuts to the 'sub-menus' in tools ( eg the single object / dual object in the combiune tool) Thanks Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
METHOD 1 After selecting your object(s) hold the Option key down and drag a copy away. Quick and easy. METHOD 2 Purchase a copy of Vector Move (US$20) from VectorBits - it provides enhanced options to move, copy and distribute objects (works in both 2D and 3D). There is a quickTime movie on the site showing how it works. http://vectorbits.com/ [ 08-05-2005, 07:27 AM: Message edited by: mike m oz ] Quote Link to comment
ionw
Tom, just under PtP Move is PtP copy on the Vectordepot page. In your workspace editor, click on misc keys and edit Mode Groups HTH Quote Link to comment
mikatoa
Autocad users who are vectorwork converts are always asking for pt2pt copy.... Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
> Autocad users who are vectorwork converts are always asking for pt2pt copy... < And for good reason. Though it is not always easy to explain the "whys" of these 2 tools, once used they quickly get put on the "But of course that's the way to do it" list. I remain a but surprised that they aren't "stock" fare in VW - though w. the ease of adding/using these scripts it really doesn't matter... Quote Link to comment
mdarch
I've found Duplicate/Multiple and Move by Katerina Panagiotakis free at Vectordepot better than Pt2Pt for 9.0 but work fine in 11.5.1 Quote Link to comment
