nmar
I'm using Vectorworks 11.5 on a Mac OSX and every so often I get an error message, when trying to open a drawing, that says file is corupt or damaged and will open with as much information as possible. After getting this message I hit "ok" and vectorworks always crashes. Usually on my next attempt, the drawing opens just fine with no error message. Sometimes it takes a couple trys, but the files have never been unrecoverable. Should I be concerned? Quote Link to comment
Travis
I would be very concerned. You probably ought to stop using (certainly stop "growing") those files. Follow the Work Group Reference?break the link protocol as outlined by Jonathan Pickup's "How to Save a Corrupt File" at http://www.archoncad.co.nz/resources/resources_tips.php Good luck, Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Looks like it could be as simple as a filepath or preferences issue. Goto ~/Library/Preferences and trash the two files ( be sure you have your SN# handy at relaunch). You can also trash the .ds_store files within the Vectorworks Directories, especially the Plugin Folder. When the file tries to load into memory and VW cannot locate a specified Tool or one that is corrupted or even a legacy plugin, OSX cannot address properly then you will get a crash. Goto Console >VW Crash Log and see what it says about the crash. Quote Link to comment
