Curved wall appearing straight

Question

I have a couple of curved walls which while appearing curved in a top/Plan view in a viewport, straighten out in the same viewport if the projection is changed and they are rendered in Open GL, either as a Top view or perspective. The sheet is set at 600 dpi and the viewport has High detail in the background render options, and I have changed the crease angle, all to no avail... Any ideas?

Hi Lee

As you're based in the UK, I recommend you get this file over to the UK tech support team via the support form in the Service Select portal. They will take a look and get the file to our engineering team if necessary.

It looks like your Open GL options might be set to "Low".  Try turning that up and see if it helps.

Hi Tamsin,

Thank you as well, unfortunately i'm not having any luck with the crease angle.  That seems to effect the surface creasing but not the faceting of the curve.

Setting to very high is still too less for large radii like for rounded walls.

Better than by an absolute tesselation number per arc would be a

maximum deviation in a given dimension in this case.

No, sorry, I thought there could be more control for users in that case in VW.

I also had problems with a large curved atrium where triangulation was still

pretty visible.

Unfortunately WSIWYG on screen means also resolution for Mesh exports

like C4D.
