Acadia
Sorry if this a silly question but I couldn't find the answer. I am using VW 2020 architect. Is there a way to add a 3D structural header to a window (aside from actually modeling it)? I understand you'll will want to specify its depth, but maybe there's a framing module that will add standard size ones? Or an option in the window's dialog parameters? I've made the mistake of installing clerestory windows too high up close to a roof eave. Having an header automatically above windows would remind me of that necessary gap. Guest Wes Gardner
@Acadia, the short answer - nope. There is no automated way of doing this. You're probably best off using the Framing Member tool in the Detailing toolset. Here you can use it in wood framing mode and create a 2x header or steel framing mode and define a "W" shape or "L". You can also create custom shapes for it to use to simulate engineered "I" joists... Wes Quote Link to comment
