most recent revisions shown

Ari Phillips

Question

Hi there,

We are currently struggling to change the amount of 'most recent revisions shown on the drawing'.

There once was a time we could control how many would show, and we could have the last 3 for instance...however this option appears to be greyed out now And we have no idea how to change this?

Is someone able to advise?

Thanks

Ari

Thank you @Hans-Olav

That worked by converting to unstyled.  Although not entirely sure what this means?  Should e always do this?  What happens when the sheet is converted to unstyled? What impact does this have on anything else?

Also what does it mean by " do you want to load the currently opened files along with the active file too?

I font understand why i would want to open other opened files for editing the sheet ?  If i say yes, would it amend all sheets with this border style?

Thanks so much 🙂

Ari

Hi Ari

I would recommend to have the borders by style. Then you can make changes to every border in an easy way. If you right click on the border you get the option to edit the style.

If you want all sheets to have the same numbers of revisions you should have by style

if you want to have different amount on every sheet you could set by instance.

click on the button in front to toggle between modes

Maybe a little background on Styles will help.

Styles allow you to lock certain settings of an object (Title Block in this case) so that those settings can not be changed easily while leaving other settings editable by the user. They are a little bit like Symbols in that when you change the Style it effects every instance of an object in the drawing that used that style. For Doors and Windows you can use this to create objects with a fixed muntin pattern, operation, trim, etc. but still leave the overall dimensions editable. By having different styles you can easily change an object without having to edit 100s of parameters.

In this case the number of revisions was set to be controlled by the Style, so it would not accidentally be changed. as @Hans-Olav said, you can either edit the Style so that all Title Blocks will update to the revised settings, or you can convert an individual instance to Unstyled so that ALL of the parameters are editable by the user.

You are probably better off editing the style or if you want to make a lot of changes Convert to Unstyled and then making a new style once you get it set the way you want.

If you don't do the above, yes, you will have to Convert to Unstyled every time.
