Marietta
Once in a while, the 2D plants symbols in the system folder disappears after I have used these symbols. I can see why unused ones would disappear if I purge the drawing. I know I can copy them back from a template drawing, but why would they disappear? If I modify these plants, the symbols disappear. I have noticed this on pc versions also (I use Mac). I have also noticed that the pc version has more default symbols than the mac version. I am still leary of creating my own symbols for use in Landmark, so I am sticking with the ones in hte program.javascript:void(0) Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted April 15, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 15, 2004 There is a bug that causes the previews of the plants to disappear in certain circumstances. This is fixed in an upcoming release. If you have a symbol with a blank preview, it can almost certainly be fixed by regenerating all the objects in the drawing. Do this by choosing the "Create Plug-in" command off the Organize:Scripts menu. Then simply close the dialog that appears and wait for the objects to regenerate. Now your previews should be updated. Marietta
It is not the preview that disappears but the symbols themselves in the symbol system folder under resources. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted April 22, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 22, 2004 Do you mean they are no longer in the list? If you have a symbol called MyPlantSymbol, it can no longer be found anywhere? Quote Link to comment
Marietta
Yes, that's right. All the plant symbols in the symbol folder disappears. The polant list still counts them, but if you try to modify the plants, they disappear. I can recopy them from a default file, but this shouldn't happen. Marietta Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted April 22, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 22, 2004 I can't see why this would be happening. What version of VWL are you using? Quote Link to comment
Marietta
I am using VWL 10.5.1B on MAC OS 10.3. It was also doing this on PC's using VW 10 (I don't know which version) when I was teaching VectorWorks. Mairetta Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted April 22, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 22, 2004 marietta, if you could send me a file with a detailed description showing me how to reproduce this, it would be VERY helpful. Right now I can't reproduce this given the info that I have. Quote Link to comment
