nicolas06
Hi, I'm currently updating my moving light library by adding a Hung version with clamps. I built clamps symbols with the base. The problem is when I rotate a moving light, the clamps don't rotate properly and don't stick to the base of the light instrument. What could it possibly wrong in all of that ? Thanx. Mike Wright
You need to make the base and clamp into a group with the 'Parts' record format applied and 'Base' ticked. Have a search for videos explaining how to build custom lighting instruments, this explains the roles of the parts record 2 Quote Link to comment
BSeigel
@Mike Wright is spot on, let me know if you have any trouble attaching the parts record. I would also suggest editing the clamp, the geometry for the clamp seems like a fairly dense mesh and could hurt performance in your drawing. You also probably don't have much need for wings nuts, washers, etc. I would suggest tracing out the right profile of the lower bracket and extruding it an inch or so. This should significantly simplify the geometry. Quote Link to comment
nicolas06
ok, I grouped the base and the clamps together and then attaches the record format with base ticked. All good . Thanx for the answers. 1 Quote Link to comment
