Concatenating fields in the title block

Question

Concatenating fields in the title block...

FileMaker can concatenate fields and irrespective of the length of the string nudge adjacent text strings so that the sentence makes sense eg ‘First Name’ ‘Last Name’.

Now, in Vectorworks in the title block we have a field for drawing number and a field for revision number.

Who would find it useful to be able to concatenate these two fields into one drawing number and not have any text overlapping or unnecessary gap between the drawing number and the revision number?

This is a major requirement when delivering drawings using the tortuous BS 1192 during numbering convention.

Hello all,

This is currently possible by making custom text link formulas. Simply, in the TB layout, select the text that you want to display this, select Link Value for Data Type, Custom for Parameter and Add Config... for Config. Then you will be introduced to the Edit Custom Linked Text dialog which allows you to make custom formulas. Just make sure you do not split formulas in two and you are inserting formulas only from the Insert Field popup.
