grant_PD
I would like a simple way to show the square footage of a floor object. It seems like a data tag is applicable here, but I have no idea how to create the custom field for this. Is this possible? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Matt Panzer Posted October 4, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 4, 2019 I didn't test much, but I think this will do the trick for Slabs and other objects as well: Data Tag for Object Area.vwx Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
Doesn't work for floors...should I be abandoning the floor object? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Matt Panzer Posted October 4, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 4, 2019 Ah! You're right, Grant. I automatically thought of Slab objects. I'll submit a bug report on this. In the meantime, you can get what you need if you don't mind using Slab objects. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Matt Panzer Posted October 8, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 8, 2019 Hi Grant, It looks like the bug I reported on this (VB-165645) should be fixed in an upcoming service pack! 🙂 Quote Link to comment
Acip79
Hi there, I don't know if this would help you. I am using VWX 2020 now and there is still no floor tags included / introduced. So, the work around that I did is to attached a record format to the slab. Then use a data tag to extract the data via record format not the element data. Hope this helps. 😀 Quote Link to comment
