Vectorworks Cloud Services Update V8 - Proxy not working

Sittingducks

Question

Hi all,

The VCS just updated to version 8. It will no longer accept our proxy settings.

Manual settings show 'invalid server' (IT has confirmed it is set correctly)

Auto Detect has 'No Internet Connection'

No Proxy aslo has 'No Internet Connection'

The previous versions worked fine. Currently stuck with no cloud sync :(

Hello, @Sittingducks,

We have released the fix for the proxy issue. The new version number is 8.0.803. You can download the new app from here (if due to the connectivity issue, the app is unable to auto-update itself):

For Mac: https://cloud.vectorworks.net/download/latest/Mac

For Windows: https://cloud.vectorworks.net/download/latest/Windows

Please let us know if you continue to experience problems.

The fix is currently in testing and will be released very soon. I'll post an update.

Hi @Lyuben & @inikolova

The proxy may be working now however I have a couple of other issues now: (Invalid server message has gone)

Not auto starting with windows

Blank window (see attached image)

It flashes with no internet connection breifly about every 30 seconds

The screen did display after launching via vectorworks and did connect perfectly, but since logging in has disappeared again.

OK, I have no idea whats going on now. I seems so buggy and unstable. The display keeps flashing with no internet connection, then the log in screen (which took about 10 attempts because it kept disappearing) then it seems to open fine and connected. On restart it's back to a blank screen.

I really need this working to do my job. Can this be rolled back to the version that worked until someone has tested this one properly?

Regards

Jason

Hi Jason,

I am sorry to hear that you are continuing to experience problems.

We have tested the application quite extensively before releasing. Unfortunately, we have not yet seen the issue you are describing. We will investigate it and release a fix as soon as possible. Reverting to an older version is not very easy and might cause issues as well. I will discuss this option with the team and we will contact you if we need any additional information about your specific environment.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you.

Best regards,

Iskra Nikolova

Hi, @Sittingducks we are actively looking at the problems you reported. In the mean time can you double check weather you are using version 8.0.803 (See the About page of the application)? This is the version provided from the links in Iskra's post.

Does your proxy support authentication (user name and password) or it's just server name and port? I'm asking because we are trying to reproduce the issue.

Thank you,

Lyuben
