'Interrupting' rendering

Numerous times I have needed to escape a long rendering time - usually when I've clicked on something I shouldn't. I've pressed the escape key and every other key I can think of that works in other programs. Is there any way of doing this in VW. I use Renderworks a lot so this is pretty vital!

I work on Windows 2000.

I find that you need to have patience. It can take over 30 seconds of holding down the appropriate key for the program to respond and quit.

Lynda, if I hold down my Apple and my decimal key, it works for me, and it halts almost immediately despite of the file size.

I realize you are on PC, however try your CTRL/. or ALT/.

Sorry Linda, I am on a Mac. Perhaps someone else can provide that answer.

The esc key works for this. The program may not immediately stop rendering - it has to complete the thread it's currently processing before it will quit. Like another person said, it can save several seconds before it stops.
