Just Learning
I know this is simple, but I just started working with the software last week. I'm trying to create a piece of metal that is 1/8 x 1/2 x 5 that is rolled up at the end. The rolled up part does not roll completely around. I've been trying to figure out the best way to create this through the extrude method and render without the rolled up part showing as a solid in the middle of the roll up, when rendered. Please help. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
you could draw the side view of your object then extrude it use rectangles and arcs to draw the side elevation. Use the add surface command to add them together then extrude then in elevation Quote Link to comment
Mat Caird
Yhy don't you draw this shape, then extrude it? _ / \ _______________/ To give it thickness you could do an offset before you extrude, select everything and choose Tool | Decompose . Then you will need to draw two extra lines to conect each end. Then select all, then Tool|Compose, then extrude. Quote Link to comment
