Grey Layers on PDF

Hello -- 

 

I have set up a series of viewports/sheets/publish-sets for documentation. In the viewports, I have certain layers grayed out to help make other parts stand out. When I publish to PDF, they grayed out layers shows as full-view.... is there a way to fix this?

Hi Chris. I’m not st my computer but inside the publish command dialogue box you can access the publish to PDF settings and in there is a setting to control how gray layers a treated. I can send you a screen shot later if you can’t find it. Hope that helps.

Hi Boh -- I see the check mark, but it only allows you to either show them or make them invisable?

Is this what you are looking at? I've never actually used it so don't know if it does anything useful!

Hi guys,

I work from home on my personal Mac and I can't get the greyed layers grey when exporting to PDF. I have already decreased the 'gayness' to 30%, but they come out perfectly black. 

Am I missing anything here?

I actually found out what is happening so hopefully that will help others.

 

My reference is a dog drawing and it seems that the layer/ class greying out doesn't work with these. What I did then, I found out that I can control the properties (colours) of dwg layers from the Organization level. I went to Viewport and Visibilities and changed whatever needed to gray.

 

Don't hesitate to write to me if you find it helpful but need any help to execute.

 

Or, perhaps it's only been me not aware of that solution.
