Counting symbols question

Hi,

 

I have created reports that count symbols found on specific layers. Within the whole drawing I have 30 types of symbols and I use them repeatedly in different layers. Some layers include only 12 out of 30 symbols but I would like the reports to show all 30 symbols and just count them as 0 if they are not to be found within a layer.  

 

Is there any way of doing that?

I usually make a dummy layer with all 30 symbols - only one of each - and nothing else.

 

Then I include that layer in the criteria.  So the count will be off by one.

 

Then instead of =Count in the database row header, use =Count-1
