Can Symbols be given a class?

I am currently setting up a symbol database, and I would like to assign different classes to different symbols, so that when I import a symbol into a document it automatically puts itself within a class.

It might be that the target document need already contain the class name, but that is not really a problem as I am working with templates, and can set up class names in the template.

I would be grateful for any info on this, I could not find anything on this in the VW helpfile.

cheers, anais.

When creating your symbol, make sure all componets of the symbol are assigned to the class you want to be created when you insert the symbol.

You also need to assign the symbol to that class.

To assign objects to a specific class, select them. GO to the OIP, Class drop down box and select the desired class name. (The class has to be created first)
