Due to an increase in our workload we are looking for an experienced Vectorworks Architectural CAD Drafter. This position is part-time but could grow to full-time with the right candidate. Our office offers a casual, yet fast-paced work environment. We value a candidate that maintains a positive, friendly attitude within this environment. Design opportunities are available to those with the interest and ability, but this is not the primary focus of this job. This is a small firm, so the candidate will be exposed to a broad spectrum of the design and production process; from meeting with clients to coordinating with engineers and contractors. The focus of our office is high-end residential and right candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of project types from single-family remodels and new construction to small scale commercial in a variety of styles from traditional to modern. Our goal is to be highly efficient yet very accurate with our work. Job responsibilities include: • Works closely with senior staff supporting design and technical tasks • Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop/detail designs. • Travel to job sites to assist senior staff with field measurement of existing structures • Independently complete as-built drawings of field measurements off-site • Assist with design and construction document preparation • Create and revise production drawings • Revise drawings and provide design solutions for project elements • Occasionally convert existing production drawings to CAD systems. • Produce graphic presentations and model detailed multi-view drawings • Set up and maintain an organized file system for project drawings Our Ideal CAD Drafter will have the following education, experience and skills: • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Proficiency with Vectorworks 2016 or later a must • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • 2+ years of Architecture experience working on light wood framed projects a plus • Must be approachable, service oriented and possess a strong willingness to learn • Must possess excellent time management, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills • Must be able to work well both independently and as part of a team • Must be able to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects • Must possess strong attention to detail Compensation: Based on Experience If you fulfill the above requirements, please reply to this posting, stating why you think you would be a good fit for this position.
