Bruce Kieffer
How do I stop a camera from moving? When I zoom or rotate, the camera moves. I want to place a camera, and then rotate around from where the camera is set, just like rotating it on a tripod. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
You can use the Walkthrough tool - I really find the 4th mode the best. It will pan and tilt but won't move the camera unless you press W,A,S,D,Z orC. Or you could place a renderworks camera and use Fine Tune Camera View. Quote Link to comment
AlanW
@Bruce Kiefferhi, from the viewports go to enter viewports there should be a checkbox relating to the camera, uncheck it and it should not move. I use the walk through mode to get my view and save view and make viewports from them, much easier. HTH Quote Link to comment
Peter Neufeld
Dear Bruce, Whenever you activate a camera and you get to it's view, if you then want to move around and don't want the camera to move with you, click the 'Deactivate' button in the OIP first. Then as suggested by michaelk above, choose the walkthrough tool but I suggest the second option the 'Look Around mode' to rotate as if on a tripod. Cheers, Peter 1 Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
Similar to @Bruce Kieffer 's questions, I just noted something that I'm not sure if I can explain about the Camera View. At one time I could fine tune my camera view, then "zoom out". By this I mean the camera's Point of View was "locked" & "zooming out" was similar to changing the crop of a photo to reveal more of the photo. What seems to happen now, even with "Deactivate" chosen, the POV also moves. I can get the same/similar result by creating a viewport & adjusting the crop, but it's not as intuitive as it once was. Is there a button or setting that allows one to work more like the old technique? Quote Link to comment
zoomer
22 minutes ago, Jim Smith said: At one time I could fine tune my camera view, then "zoom out". I think you refer to "cropped Perspective" setting. (in File settings ?) In this case you will zoom the crop frame only, instead of the view. 1 Quote Link to comment
