Hollowing out hemisphere

Hi, I'm building a scoop type lighting fixture and I'm trying to hollow out a hemisphere, any good tips to do this? I'd like to be able to give the inside and outside different textures.

use two sweeps, one for the inside, one for the outside.  then you can texture both sides.  Just make sure there is no overlaping geometry.

Or subtract a Sphere and use Thicken Tool Shell Solid,

selecting the flat Face to delete in options.


Maybe there are even more ways to create the geometry in VW.

Thanks gentlemen, I managed to do via converting to mesh then deleting the face. The sweep method does look really good and I'll take a look at the sphere subtraction too.

Once you've done the Shell command, you can go to Modify<Convert<Convert to NURBS, which will allow you to go inside the group and texture the inside differently than the outside.
