Window reveals

Is there any way the wall tool can be programmed to return internal plaster or external render into reveals? It knows the window is there andthe size of the components so I wouldn't think it was too difficult... 🙂

Yes, if using the Window tool, but only in 2D at the moment. Under the Window Style settings look for Interior and Exterior Wall Detail.

VW2022: in Exterior and Interior Wall Detail, insert the number of construction elements/layers you want to return to form the reveal - e.g. outside might just be the cladding, so put '1', e.g. inside might be Plasterboard plus Plaster Skim so put '2'.

So far, so good. But in my model, each window that I do this to, puts the reveal layer in a different position relative to the window frame. I can't find any way to control this. Advice / ideas anyone? thanks

There is a blue selection handle on one side of the window that allows you to adjust the position of the wrapping (it does the other side at the same time).

 

But in VW2022 there is now the Wall Closures settings which give you 3D wrapping as well as 2D.
