Here's the kind of scenario: I have several section viewports; they are all basically the same section through the model but they might have different classes/layers turned on, to show a number of options, or illustrate a couple of different aspects of a scene. Each viewport has its own annotations but there are some that are in common. It would be really handy if I could easily duplicate annotations between viewports. As it is, if I copy&paste something from one viewport to another, if I do 'paste in place' it'll land in the same place relative to the sheet layer, not the contents of the viewport. Hopefully the illustrations below demonstrate what I mean.
This is something I come up against more and more, the more I exploit 3d modelling.
