Convert to light position no respond

Hi,

 

I am using VW 2017. And try to convert a extruded 1 1/2" x 25'  rectangle into a lighting position. I am in the Top/Plan view and after I selected the object and click Convert to Light Position, nothing changes. The dialogue box that was supposed to pop out did not pop out. How should I resolve this?

Just a couple of thoughts:

1. I seem to remember that you need to be in Top/Plan for this to work.
2. Have you tried converting a lighting pipe to a lighting position? Does that work?

@jcbw You probably chose not not convert non-hybrid and selected "Always do" in the dialog at some point .

You can reset the action from the Vectorworks Preferences > Session tab, click the Reset Saved Settings... button.

Check "Always do..."

Click OK.

 

This will reset this dialog and all "Always do" dialogs to display again.

 

You should also create an 1 1/2" x 25'  rectangle, group it with the extrude and then convert.

This will create a hybrid object that can be viewed in 2D and 3D.
