Hmmh,

a new SP3 thing or did it get worse ?

Just opened VW by a File from Explorer,

- empty OpenGl 3D view

- yellow rulers

- just a single 12345e52637 number instead of ruler scale

Fit View failed.

Switching Num+0 for Top Plan and Num+1 for OpenGL Iso

did work(around) again.

"Best Performance" on Windows 10 latest with RTX 2070 here.

Last time I ran into this, it was a corrupt file.

Can you send me that file privately?

Unfortunately again the typical super NDA stuff.

But you may be right,

there is imported Revit stuff in it and if I remeber correct,

when editing, at least one of the Symbols from a Revit Family

I saw the rulers showing coordinates far from File Origin.

(Although the blue origin was near (?))

Very possible that it's a corrupt workspace, and I sure do know how not fun it is to recreate those 🙂

Is there a way to repair them (for you) ?

And are there any other, hidden files, with known potential to corrupt,

in our User Folders, which will be only be rebuild after the whole

User Folder is gone ?

No automated repairs, all by guess and check.

There's no real way to know which file(s) are causing the issue, to my knowledge. My approach is usually remove one folder at a time and relaunch until I find where the culprit is and then try to diagnose from there.

I had corrupt Workspaces in the past that I had to recreate.

But I think my current Workspace is running 3 Versions already 👍

So far I had never larger problems or need to delete my User Folder.

But if I had to ...

The approach would be,

Hide User Folder to check if it was the problem

a) if not,

move it back

b) if yes,

start adding things back in new recreated User Folder one by one

to narrow it down ....

For me using a Workgroup Folder,

it shouldn't be a big problem to recreate the User Folder as there isn't much in there.

Custom Workspace(es) and a few DWG or Magic Wand Settings,

the few VW Pref Settings are easy to recreate from scratch.

I think that is what I have done manually from VW 2018 to VW 2019 Migration anyway.

Do you know if there's a way to print out a summary of the customizations

Workspaces are stored in your user folder as .vww files, which are essentially .xml files; you could probably poke through there to check customization info, though it won't be so user friendly.

It's likely possible to write a script that could make it more readable, but I don't have the time right now.
