Phil hunt
i have created a texture in a vectorworks file and would like to use the texture in photoshop....is it possible to export the texture as a jpg or similar thanks Quote Link to comment
markdd
You can export the individual images in each shader by right-clicking on the texture in the resource manager and selecting “extract images”. Quote Link to comment

markdd
What kind of texture is it? If there are no images in the texture, then that option won't appear. I guess the only way to extract a texture made from a procedural shader like a tile or a noise shader is to actually render a surface with the texture applied and take a screen shot or use the Export Image command from as flat a view as you can. I would imagine that the default lighting would be best for that so there are no shadows and just enough "plasticity" to see any displacement mapping. Quote Link to comment
Phil hunt
that works thanks...i was hoping it would have extracted the image with the bump map.....but i think that's wishful thinking....also i only think the extract works when the material has been made from an image source and not just a colour.....im looking for a nice textured white laminate that i had made from a colour and then given the image some noise.....not the end of the world thanks again Quote Link to comment
Phil hunt
thanks again.....really useful and there are some great textures with the vectorworks libraries that i can use in other situations ....and i can always make a bump map in photoshop for the extraction cheers Quote Link to comment
