Carl Burnett
Hello, I am working with renders in VW Spotlight, using Viper Profiles. Is there a way for the gobos to show in the render? Thanks for any help. Carl Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted February 28, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 28, 2019 You have to assign the specific gobo to the fixture the same way you would do it with a conventional fixture. Vectorworks Help -> Inserting a Gobo Quote Link to comment
Carl Burnett
Thanks for the info. I thought I had done that Please see attached screen shot. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted February 28, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 28, 2019 You have to specify a Vectorworks texture. Specifying a dds, jpg etc. image files will not work. If the Vectorworks texture does not already exist you can use the Create Gobo Texture command to create one from the image. P.S. dds files are obsolete and not supported by Vision on Vectorworks. dds files are automatically replace with jpg by Vision. Quote Link to comment
Carl Burnett
Thanks for your help, I now have gobo's in my lamps. Is it possible to see the beam shape? I can see the image when it hits a surface but the beam appears solid. Thanks again for any help Carl Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted March 1, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 1, 2019 In Vectorworks you need to make sure you have the "Draw Beam" option turned off, the light turned on, and your render mode is set to one of the Renderworks options. Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted March 1, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 1, 2019 In the Lit Fog settings within your Renderworks Background, enable "Receive Shadows" which will slow the render, but will give you the effect you're looking for. This video should cover that and a few other details: 1 Quote Link to comment
