Peter Telleman
Hi everyone, hopefully an easy question this time. I've made a "net" from multiple cylinders and turned that into a symbol for a specific need. But now I want to use that net in various sizes. Is there a way to change the dimensions of this symbol but keep the grid size (the individual squares) the same size? In other words, change the outside measurements, but keep the interior the same size. thanks a lot for helping, Peter. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
you can scale the symbol (but it scales everything) wouldn't this be ideal for marionette? Quote Link to comment
Claes Lundstrom
If it's 3D, you can trim it with an enclosing solid. Quote Link to comment
markdd
If its a net made from cylinders then I imagine that it will become very needy on your processor and graphics card. Could I suggest you use a mesh texture and align it with a surface hatch for hidden line rendering. I recently had a project with lots of mesh and this was the solution I came up with. I've attached the file. The beauty of textures for this kind of thing is that they adapt to the size of the object they are applied to, and can also be rescaled. Mesh.vwx 2 Quote Link to comment
