Vectorworks 2019 Mojave polygon lag issue

Question

Hi,

I'm a 15+ year Mac Vectorworks user, but never posted here before. First time for everything...

So I've been holding off upgrading to Mojave due to the various reported issues, but the day before yesterday I went through the forums, figured the 2019 SP2 had everything important ironed out, and took the plunge. Since then I have noticed a few little issues, but one that is really a problem for me.

When I draw a new polygon, or select an existing one, I get a 5-60 second lag/ spinning beachball from the moment when I click to select the polygon until the Object Info panel updates and displays the correct information. So the polygon highlights correctly and the 9 edit handles appear as soon as I click on the object, but then the beachball appears until the object info is displayed. About half way through the delay the Object Info panel kind of halfway updates, then a further delay before it finishes.

This happens when selecting rectangles (shorter) and plugin objects (longer) as well, and the delay seems to be longer in large complex files than in simple ones. Not so much delay selecting simple things like lines. The weird thing is that the delay time seems to get longer the longer I use Vectorworks, as if some data is piling up in the background somewhere. Close Vectorworks and reopen and the delay is shorter again (though still 2-5 seconds) and then slowly gets longer.

I have been working on 2019 SP2 in High Sierra for a couple of months with no issues, so this is definitely related to the Mojave upgrade somehow.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15in, Mid 2015), 2,8 GHz Core i7, 16GB memory.

Anyone else getting something like this?

regards,

Rolf Hagen

Ok, after the best part of two days uninstalling and reinstalling stuff, turns out VW2019 on Mojave doesn't like the Sophos Home virus protector. Turn off that and everything seems to be working ok again. No problem with it on High Sierra, but there you go..

Anyway, issue resolved I guess.
